If you haven’t noticed, fish burgers are not as common in restaurants and I don’t know why, they deserve more recognition. As much as they are not common in restaurants, you could still make them at home and feel like you are in a five star hotel, because I am here to help you on that. As for tartar sauce, it boosts the flavor of the fish burger and makes it even more delicious! Tastes like heaven if you as me…?

Ingredients (fish)

  • Fish Fillet
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • Half a cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • Lemon juice
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Burger buns

Tartar sauce

  • Half a cup of mayonnaise
  • Half an onion (diced)
  • Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar


  • Slice your fish into patties
  • Season your fish patties with salt, black pepper and some lemon juice.
  • In a separate bowl, add in your breadcrumbs, black pepper then your lemon zest
  • Mix it all together
  • In a separate bowl, add your egg and beat it thoroughly
  • Take your fillet patty, dip it in the EGG mixture first, then to the breadcrumb mixture
  • In a pan, add in enough oil for deep frying the fish, and put on your heat to medium
  • Add in your fish patty and let it deep fry for about 6-8 minutes


Fish does not take a long time to cook, if you over cook it, it becomes soggy and falls apart easily and we do not want that!

  • Once you have fried all your patties, take them out and let them rest

For your tartar sauce;

  • In a bowl, add in your mayonnaise
  • Add in two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar
  • Add in a splash of lemon juice
  • Add in your onions and lastly your black pepper
  • Then mix everything together and let it sit in the fridge for about 15 minutes (optional)

Now the last process is to assemble your burger

REMEMBER to add the tartar sauce in the burger so that it could be as messy and juicy as possible!
