Chicken Wings (2) ways

Guess what guys? Today’s recipe is a 2 in 1 recipe. I am already excited on your behalf because you really are not ready for this storm of deliciousness!! It is very rare to find someone who does not like chicken, and when you do find one… please pray for them. Lol, jokes aside… besides the thigh, I enjoy eating wings. As a matter of fact, wings tend to be so expensive in restaurants and I do not know why… So that is why my blog is here, to save you the damage your wallet will go through when you go to eat out.

I bought 1kg of wings which retails for Ksh 500 in City Market and the portion is quite a lot, I recommend!

For the recipes today, I will show you how to make teriyaki bbq wings & Honey mustard wings.

I used the same marinade for both:

  • 3/4 tspn of black pepper
  • 1 tspn of salt
  • 3/4 tspn of paprika
  • 1 tspn of garlic powder
  • 1 tspn of cumin
  • 1 tbspn of worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tspn of soy sauce
  • A splash of lemon juice
  • 1/2 tspn of rosemary

(1) For the Teriyaki BBQ wings:

You will need;

  • 1/2 a kg of chicken wings ( I prefer to cut each wing into two parts )
  • The marinade above
  • Oil

Method:

  1. Preheat your oven at 180 degrees for 10 minutes
  2. On a baking tray, cover it with foil paper and smear oil on it spreading it all through
  3. Place your chicken wings and space them out evenly, then drizzle some oil on them
  4. Bake them for 30 minutes at 180 degrees
  5. Once cooked, take them out

For the Teriyaki BBQ sauce;

You will need;

  • 1/2 a cup of ketchup
  • 2 tbspns of honey
  • 2 tspns of brown sugar
  • 1 tspn of worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tspn of Soy sauce
  • 2 tspns of Teriyaki Sauce
  • A splash of lemon juice
  • A little water
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Method:

  1. In a saucepan, add all your ingredients minus the water and let them simmer for a minute on medium heat.
  2. Add a few drops of water and keep stiring the sauce as it thickens.
  3. Once you are satisfied, turn off the heat and add your chicken wings to it
  4. Garnish with dhania leaves if you like

(2) For The Honey Mustard Wings:

You will need:

  • 1/2 a kg of Chicken Wings
  • The marinade above
  • 1/2 a cup of Corn Flour
  • 1/2 a cup of all purpose flour
  • 1 tspn of garlic powder
  • 1 tspn of paprika
  • 1 tspn of black pepper
  • 1 tspn of salt
  • Oil

Method:

  1. In separate bowls, add your Corn flour and all purpose flour ( SEPARATE BOWLS)
  2. To the all purpose flour, add the spices and salt and mix everything together
  3. Take your chicken and coat it in the All purpose flour first, then the corn flour.
  4. Once all your wings have been coated, set them aside and add oil to your pan
  5. Once the oil is hot enough, add your chicken and let them fry and cook through. Keep turning them until they are fully cooked.

For the Honey Mustard Sauce;

You will need;

  • 1/2 a cup of Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbspns of honey
  • 2 tbspns of mustard
  • 1/2 a tspn of salt & pepper

Method:

  1. In a bowl, add all your ingredients and mix everything together. Chill it for a few minutes before serving.
  2. You can use this sauce as a dip for your wings.

Thank you for reading this post guys, I am looking forward to see how yours will turn out! See you on the next post fam!
